New: Air Rifle Youth Program
CASL is starting a youth air rifle program for school ages 6th to 12th grade. It will be part of the Civillian Marksmanship Program and is designed for youngs hooters to learn and compete with accurate air rifles withot having a high cost for equipment.  CASL has purchased Sporter air rifles from the CMP to start the new program on the right foot.

Coach Chris strongly suggests THE AIR RIFLE PROGRAM as a way to start preparing for the MYHEC competition.

ALL ABOUT MYHEC
MYHEC is a program of the National Rifle Association of America is recognized as the most comprehensive youth hunting program anywhere in North America.

It is an outdoor skills and safety training program for young hunters and is open only to those who have graduated from hunter safety training at the state or provincial level.

There are 8 disciplines, 4 shooting and 4 non-shooting and one of the aims is for diversity. There is archery, rifle, shotgun and black powder in the shooting section. This is competition and a search for the top shooters but there is also an emphasis on everyone becoming familiar in each category.

CASL is always looking for volunteer team leaders! Consider this opportunity to help develop our youth in Michigan's outdoor hunting skills! Contact George Allen for details.
