Pistol Announcements

The Capital Area Sportsmen's Pistol Team is a members of the Central Michigan Rifle and Pistol League. We shoot .22 caliber target pistols indoors at 50 feet.

Our winter league shooting begins in late October and ends late April, with a league tournament held in the early part of February at the West Michigan Sportsmen's Club. Practice nights during the winter are Wednesday, 6:30PM till 8:30PM. Our home matches are Thursday's.

We shoot 15 matches during the winter league and travel to Jackson, Alma, and Ionia for away matches.

The goal of the course is to teach you the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely, and provide information on the citizen's right of self defense.

The legal use of deadly force will be covered in detail. The class is 13 total hours and has been accepted by county gun boards as meeting the training requirements for a Carry Concealed Weapons license.
